BBQ and Steamboat for farewell

February 9, 2010

A few days a go, I joined my colleagues to celebrate our colleague moving to other company. Do you see a trend?? Hehehe… how many times already but what about me? I’m the want who wanna go…well enough about me.

So our destination was Sg. Buluh. This is by far the farthest destination on ‘jalan-jalan cari makan’ for me. Need to use Guthrie highway and it was dark and when we arrived there, the tables were full. Luckily they have benches and they gave the tools&gas and we were set to go. Yup we have star as our roof (small quantity).

Tom yam soup

Is it more than RM18??

So it was BBQ and steamboat buffet and it was okay but together with friends should top that. I had more luxurious choices and tastier buffer before but that cost so much more than here. Since it is RM18 and we got to eat the foods, I say it worth it.

We use Guthrie highway exit Sg, Buluh and went to Kuang direction. Turn left to Kuang direction(signboard) and the ‘warung’ is left after a few ‘warung’. Not convinced with my direction…

Tarraaa…

GPS

Give them a call because it was so full on last Friday.

I wish all the best to my friend, Chun for his new job. May you be happier with better salary. hehehehehe.

A view…

February 7, 2010

If I’ve got lucky, I’ve got to sit in the class where a view behind of the clas is something like this:

I kinda never get bored of looking at Petronas Twin Tower. Every time I saw it, I remember the documentary that featured on how Petronas Twin Tower being built and I really fascinated by it.

If you look closely at the picture, you will see clear boundary between KL centre and Kampung Baru. One with high-rise buildings and another one with normal and disorganized layout… Land at Kg. Baru price become super expensive. I don’t really think that disorganized layout is beautiful but I don’t like if Kg. Baru will be developed and become another high-rise building land. Kinda lost a soul… Luckily I’m not Kg. Baru property owner and not involve in Federal territory development….

Pity I don’t get this view in front of me and instead I’ve got this:

Time of Eve Review

February 6, 2010

Taken from Crunchyroll

I’m soo like the anime. Imagine that where androids that exactly look like human are typical house application. There is no way to differentiate between android and human by looking at the external. However by law, the androids must show their hologram thingie at top of their head to show that they are androids. So these androids work as maid, company, bodyguard and so on.

However, come this cafe called ‘Time of Eve’ where everyone enter the cafe, discrimination was not allowed. Android who entered the cafe, their hologram was off. So in the cafe, we are mostly not sure whether the customers/workers are human or android. The anime started with one school student realized that his android maid went to somewhere on her own without any instruction from his family and then he found out about Time of Eve.

The anime is so beautiful. The production really put hard work on it and it truly shown however the downside it was the anime was out only once per month sometime 2 months and it has only 6 episodes. What up?? The story line was nice and some of the story between the customers were really touching. Roha-chan the anime looks slow, yes it does  but I like it. It got me thinking, if the situation really happen, what would be my reaction? Can I not discriminate the androids but aren’t they not human? Should we treat androids as them or it?

6 episodes so not fulfilling. I heard they are making movie…next time.

Tacos & Ubi Kayu

January 29, 2010

Yesterday, I went to another farewell party, my colleague who sat next to me. Now I don’t have neighbour to chit chat. Hope he will have a best of luck on his new job.

My meal of choice yesterday was Tacos and Ubi Kayu. I know…I was greedy. We ate at Naluri Cafe, Seksyen 9, Shah Alam (when I suggested naluri cafe, all my friends make a sound naluri~~ with their hand at their heart. Unable to resist). I was worried at first because I suggested the cafe but I think everthing was okay…fuuuhh…

My 1st tacos, I dunno whether it was authentic but it was okay

Ubi kayu with sambal, ikan masin. I like the sambal. After a while, I ate the corn chips with the sambal. Very Malaysian..hehehe

I kinda knows about Tacos before this because I watch No Reservation: Anthonny Bordain. Then there was this menu which state taco but I just know it was type of kueh, my fren described it to me. It made me realize that I don’t really know much about my Malaysian food. I’ll take more effort to learn it. Can anyone just put it on youtube?

Gadgets that I want/dream…

January 27, 2010

I like gadget but for now I still able to control myself from impulse shopping because lack of resources. So now I’m going to list down some of the gadget that I want and self-pitying myself because there are more important things to pay instead of gadget… hik..hik..hik

1) iPhone/Blackberry

I can’t decide… which one I like more. I want iPhone because it really fun and trendy, all sort of applications but I don’t the virtual keypad. (I tried my sis iPod so I know that I don’t really like it). But other cool stuff really tempting. Then, Blackberry, it has QWERTY keypad and not virtual. I also know that they have many type of Blackberry not like iPhone. iPhone is so like so many people use it, feel like not unique taste. ( U understand my argument by looking at my car instead of Myvi) and Blackberry smartphone  feel smart instead of entertainment approach. Since I can’t decide and my cheap phone is functioning, I don’t want to decide.

2) ipod

Since I can’t have iphone, can I have an ipod? my sis said what for? better buy an iphone

3)E-reader

I want one and this is the most thing that I wanted for now. It is now in my mind and now aim for it. I might not only dream of it but seriously thinking to buy one. Imagine that I could read my study notes (pdf) and those journals I need to read and no need to print. I don’t have to carry thick book around. Thinking about it make me drooling…Arghhhh so tempting.

4)Nintendo Wii

I don’t really play games and never interested to buy PS (what ever number they are now) or Xbox. I have short focus, patient, hate losing, so can’t stand to play a game for a long time but looking at what Nintendo offer making me feel I want the game console.

4) e-dictionary (Japanese-English)

I have one, old version. I bought it 2nd hand but some part couldn’t really help because I can’t read kanji. I want the new one that I can write kanji and the dictionary will explain the words. I saw one of my classmate using it. Super jealous.

5)Nintendo DS

Since I can’t get Wii, can I buy DS?

6)New lappie.

I love my lappie but there is an issue, when ever the microprocessor full running for a long time, heated then automatic off and can only be switch on after cool off. During earlier time, this wouldn’t happen but 24hrs running in days for 2 years really taking a toll of my lappie, furthermore I think, the AMDTurion64×2 can’t stand the heat. So I want a new one but I still love my lappie. So gonna wait till my lappie really sick and die.

7)Netbook

Since I like my lappie screen big, sometime I really feel that it is heavy to carry around and even if I buy a new lappie, one of my spec’s requirement is big screen for video viewing satisfaction. So I want small netbook that I can carry around.

8)Digital camera

yup, I still don’t have and really like taking picture but the main reason that I don’t have it is because all my friends have it and usually I go out with them and we (mostly me) will collect all the pictures from multiple camera. I don’t want to add another camera.

9)DSLR

I’m under delusion that I take good picture from digicam but I know clearly that if I don’t put an effort (like buying, trying and learning), I will never become good photographer.

Tired for the long list. Maybe there are more but stop for now. I can dream, can’t I?

Disclaimer: Some image was taken with out any consideration. Please don’t judge my taste.

p/s: owh yeah, Apple want to launch their new product. Maybe will be added to the list.

The Guardian Review

January 26, 2010

Sorry, I’ve no interesting story in my life so time for more review….now novel review time.

The Guardian has small similarity with p.s. I Love You. It is the story of Julie who lossed her husband due to cancer even both of them still young. However the husband left her Great Dane puppy that became so big afterward. The husband died and left something are the similarities. The difference will be the Guardian more towards Julie new love. First conflict was choosing between Mike, her husband’s bestfriend or Richard, sophisticated engineer. Then when love conflict settled, came big crisis, overly jelous, wanted her real bad that could get her murdered.

This is my first Nicholas Spark’s book. Initially I wanna try and checked out how a guy write romance and it wasn’t bad. It was fine book. The love part was not so brilliant but the suspense was quite good. The writing was totally not bad because I didn’t feel bored. I can’t put him as my other brilliant authors but I think I could read more of his book. (psss…the novel is so ‘U’, no 18SX scene. Muahaha).

East of Eden (Higashi no Eden) Review

January 22, 2010

The starting of the anime was pretty interesting. Suddenly there was censored naked young man that couldn’t recall who he was and what was he doing at Washington with only special looking mobile phone with him.

A Japanese girl who was being there as a tourist, gave him a hand. Then the story start to surfaced but more mysteries given. Who was actually the young man? Why every special phone user has an account with lot money and a voice that they can request for anything but the request will be deducted from the account? What the main character did with the phone?

So many questions but the answer given at the some last episodes was okay but the ending was a bit of asking whether it was logical or you been asking what really happen.

I have to say it was refreshing that it was stand alone anime instead from manga, the story and mysteries was nice but sometimes it was a bit slow pace and the ending a bit let down. They said they making movie for the continuation of the ending and not mistalken, the movie already out. But normally I’m lazy to find anime movie. Maybe I’ll watch it, maybe I won’t.

Rating: 4.0/5

New Year Eve (2009) and ajl24

January 18, 2010

I suppose to post this long time ago but I was lazy, when I was in the mood, I left my HD at another house but then realized that the picture is in my lappie. Aih….

Initially I didn’t to celebrate it because too fussy. I thought that it will jammed and crowded everywhere but I changed my mind when I read the news that the celebration gonna be a blast. So I asked Roha-chan and thought of going to Putrajaya but had been told that no announcement so we decided to go to KLCC.

Tip #1. Go to KLCC using public transport but it gonna jammed pack. Since we rode from Bangi, at first it was not bad but closer to KLCC station, getting sardined. If wanted to drive, don’t go there late, you won’t make it. We did try during study but in the end, celebrated at road. Owh, the train service extended to 2 am.

Tip #2. Bring along camera and take picture of Twin Towers at night but seriously, live view more fascinating than still picture.

Tip #3 Prepare something to do while waiting because there was no live concert but colour fountain performance accompanied by music which then causing me ‘tired’ watching it. Roha-chan and I brought a book, sat under what ever light source, sadly I had headache and lost focus. Please figure out how you going to make the time pass.

Tip #4 Enjoy (Taken from Roha-chan’s)

Tip #5 After finished, everyone was moving to same direction causing real crazy of crowded, so pack crazy until cannot really walk and was pushed around. During this time, I’ve decided not to invite anyone to go for new year eve celebration ever again.

Tip #6 If the KLCC LRT station was so crowded and you cannot enter the entrance, try walk like 10-15 mins to Ampang Park Station. ( I remembered that I read somewhere about it an Roha-chan said she did walk to Ampark Park but not strongly remember. We walked following some crowd and we managed to find it without asking anyone). There were a lot of free seat (KL Sental direction)

Tip #7 Bring your Touch N Go, it is very convenience and you don’t have to Q.

Tip #8 If cannot stand the crowds. Don’t go. I won’t invite people anymore but if people invite me, different matter. BTW, I read that i-City celebration also with firework, very close to my office. Should i……?

Now AJL24. Try to be short because already lazy.

1. The sound of the singers can’t really be reached at my TV

2. Afraid that Bunkface screwed during live but they were okay.

3. Watching with critic(my bro) pretty annoying especially not agree on some singer.

4. I thought Misha singing was good but Black won.

5. Yuna was great

6. Faizal was also great

7. The rest, I didn’t take much notice because it was not really my cup of tea. Including the 1st winner. Don’t judge me okay, I’m not involve in music industry.
