I lost a friend

Today is supposed her birthday but she didn’t make it. She left on last Saturday, the day we planned to give her a farewell for her transferring to her hometown but turned out, she didn’t make it too. I known her since I was posted here, we were so closed especially when I was unmarried. After I got married, we drifted apart but it still hurt when you left. I know that I was not a good friend but you were so nice and that make all people get so close to you and took care of you. Yeah I was such a bad friend but it still hurt when you left.

I knew about your condition but I was so optimistic…I was having high hope that you would be okay. You would get your treatment and you would live years…far more than what doctor mentioned. But it might be I was living in denial. I couldn’t believe that you would leave sooner.

You might never know your impact to me when you leave because we weren’t really close in later years but it really hurt when you’re gone.

I’m so sorry that I had been a bad friend. Forgive me.

Roha in Rompin

As titled, Roha-chan came to Rompin, this was 2nd time. The first time was when Khairi about 1 year old, I guess.

However this time, Roha chan have days instead of hours.

She arrived after my office hour finished so I picked her and then Khairi and Farha from nursery.

The next day was also working day, so I brought Roha-chan to my workplace. OMG she could sleep while sitting, futhermore while I and my colleagues did discussion near her. She said she picked up this talent because she travels a lot.

During this time, we couldn’t reallt talk much because I had to handle Farha and Khairi. Mostly we talked in car journeys.

The next day was Saturday, since Roha-chan bought midnight bus ticket to return to her home town. We decided to go to Air Papan beach in Mersing for picnic. About an hour journey.

We also dipped into the water because I just saw Khairi and Farha eagerness and I realized that it was easier to do any activity with Roha and my BFF compare to my own husband. My husband would give many excuses if asked him to play in the water. Roha-chan just said ok and also looked after Khairi and Farha. She is truly understanding.

Then we went back and I sent Roha back at midnight.

I feel kinda sad that I might can’t send her off at airport when she went to Japan unlike last time because now I’ve to plan for my kids too but I will try to send he off. InshaAllah.

Eid Fitri celebration at workplace 2019

As usual, our staff club organized Raya celebration combining with monthly assembly. Each department brought one or 2 menus. Mine brought nasi impit and rendang ayam. We went crazy…crazy for eating. Yes I took all in the menu and ate all that I put in my plates and take away food. Very raya menu.

Nasi ayam (chicken rice)

Nasi ayam (chicken rice)

Lemang and mee/mihun celup. I took away the mihun celup and Farha was slurping the mihun celup suop.

Almost empty satay, kuah kacang (peanut sauce) and nasi impit.

Ketupat palas, rendang ayam, serunding ikan and a lot of dessert.

My plates and food container but not all because I’d a plate of chicken rice.

OOTD in raya deco from my colleagues.

Not Instagram worthy post.

Okay get ready, I’m going to spam our photography session.

Some of them are still single especially my dearest colleagues, those 2 who posed together. Let me know if anyone but must be nice want to know them.

Family Trip to Penang to meet BFFs

The plan started when Roha-chan informed us that she would come to Penang for conference on 16 Dec 2019. She told us like months before. So we decided to do a gathering just like BFF langkawi trip but in Pulau Pinang instead of Pulau Langkawi.

I waited about 3 weeks or 2 weeks before the date to finalize my leaves, logistic issue on bringing Khairi, Farha and my husband and flight ticket. Flight ticket from KLIA2 to Penang was about Rm94 pax and flight return was RM64 pax. Overall with 3 adults and Rm54x2 for infant, tax and baggage close to Rm800 for Air Asia. It would be cheaper with driving but I wasn’t sure I could handle Khairi and Farha for near 10 hours in a car. 5 hours in the car and 1 hour in a plane was fine I thought.

Second thing that we realized was all of us couldn’t stay long. I took only 2 days leave, Wawa was 1 day leave, Cik Mah also 2 days leave and Roha-chan would be only arrived on Sunday. So this is quite very short met up but oh so worth it.

My family arrived in Penang on Saturday from KL. BTW We reached KL and stayed at my parent’s house the day before and we arrived at my parent’s house at 1am and had to wake up 6am to take 11.15 am flight. Aiiih…

Cik Mah fetched us from Penang airport, checked in at Vistana Hotel. We stayed in 2 rooms suite and Cik Mah arranged this because we want to make sure there was a pool since we thought that we wouldn’t have much time. Later only my family able to use the pool and only for one time. My family, Cik Mah and Wawa family had lunch at Nasi Kandar Kayu and this was our go to restaurant because it just behind our hotel. For me, the nasi kandar was okay but I had better or I might prefer others because nostalgia, I worked in Penang for a few years before. During that time, never had nasi kandar Kayu.

We just stayed in the hotel after lunch because we didn’t plan to go out, Roha-chan would arrived the next day and it was drizzling. However our friend/senior from hostel uni visited us and brought along mee udang and char kuew tiaw. Legit so tasty. We especially Wa, Cik Mah and our friend were chatting and it truly felt like when I was in the university, I visited their hostel room and would see these 3 people chatting and laughing. Seriously gurls, same exactly.

The next day, my family went to swimming pool because we kinda readied early. Farha and Khairi totally love it. Farha didn’t get her chance during De Rhu short vacay so she was totally ecstatic.

Roha-chan had arrived, adding with her sister, we decided to go to The Top, KOMTAR in Georgetown. Wanna go to see dinosaurs. The price for only dinosaurs was RM48 for MyKad holder(Malaysian) each. Below 90cm was free but Khairi (supposed RM38) was free because someone gave free pass ticket for kid. However to see almost all show, Rm74 Malaysian for adult and RM 45 for Malaysian child and Rm93 and RM55 for non citizen. We decided for just dinosaurs because we figured we didn’t have much time since Wa’s flight was on that night.

After the show and many more minutes because Khairi and Farha wanted to play with rides.

We decided to go eat Laksa Penang and chendul at famous Jalan Penang and we managed to that even though we had to ride bridge walkway, drizzling, juggling with kids and with Khairi and Farha tantrums. We managed to eat the laksa and chendul. The laksa was amazing, and the chendul? It was alright but I’d better… I think in Ipoh.

Wa and family flight were at night and we only manage to say good by from the car and we didn’t wait for her at airport like in Langkawi because no much time. While Roha-chan was waiting for her family. That night I shared nasi kandar and roti nan with chicken tandoori with Cik Mah and my husband ate nasi kandar. I didn’t manage to chat much with Cik Mah and when Roha was back, I was sound asleep.

The next day, Monday, Cik Mah drove back early morning because she had to go to work so Roha-chan sent us to airport. This was the time I made silly mistake. We went to the airport just to reach Penang Airport in one hour before flight departure and the queue for drop baggage was soooooooooo looooooong. No kidding. I figured we might missed our flight and felt so frustrated because how we were going back to KL and my paid ticket. But suddenly I heard the Air Asia staff called our flight number and we managed to cut queue because they opened counter just for this flight and we just ran to the gate. Not normal run because I was carrying Farha, my husband with a bag and Khairi. Ya Allah, it was intense. I was so scared that we would missed the flight and carrying Farha was so tiring and was so aching. We reached at the gate and other fellow riders was queuing while the flight passenger just disembark. Next time, won’t go late for any airport.

There were not a lot of pictures because we must have carrying and handling the kids.

Tiring but very fun trip because meeting my best friends. Love it.

Workplace’s Team Building & Annual Dinner

This was on 17 November 2018. My workplace skipped one or 2 years for annual dinner and we held the dinner this year at Lanjut Beach & Golf Resort, the new section because they just finished built it early this year. Old section was closed for renovation I heard. The new building is very big improvement for the resort. Bigger, newer and prettier. I dunno the room condition though because I didn’t enter any.

In the morning we had team building conducted by the resort people.

Some of the game quite funny and Khairi also joined games for kid but mostly I’d to help him.

Then there was playing in the pool session but my family skipped it because we had to attend lunch wedding of my husband’s cousin. No picture taken during the wedding.

Theme for my workplace dinner was black, yellow and white which explained my kid clothes. My colleagues chose a nice color because the color totally pop. Khairi and Farha had a blast even though it was night. However Farha getting cranky later and Khairi did lie down on the chair.

The dinner was at outdoor session, near pool area and they served typical hotel food but it was barbecued session. I and my husband couldn’t remember how many time we refilled our plate with lamb grilled. The food was totally not bad.

Gurls!! I won lucky draw. I got a hamper for a draw and 2nd grand prize for another draw. I rarely won lucky draw. Alhamdulillah.

Office Raya

Last Wednesday was open office, I mean Raya celebration at my work place. There are a lot of food and I ate all. I mean ALL!! Diet? What diet? (I keep thinking that I should exercise for health but I didn’t start any yet. When…? When..?)

Okay, please ignore about my exercise issue. Let me tell you about food that I ate:

and all the foods were delicious. I managed to bring one pack of curry mee and she also said it was delicious. How can it wasn’t? Each menu was brought by each unit but it end up either the wives  of colleagues prepared or my colleague prepared itself so each food were so tasty.

Small schoolmate reunion

Hi, hello, we meet again. How many months was it? So I wanna write about my schoolmate gathering on Chinese New Year. Okay it was on January but better late than never.

Before I go into that, actually I rarely joined my friends meet up/gathering and kinda drifted apart before this because none of them study with me in my university but some of them studied together, they got closed, then I worked in Penang which was more distance and one more thing was, I was the last one single for quite a long time. I went to wedding of the 2nd last who got married before drifted apart. (As you see, I was the last one and thought that I never get  married). Who knew what Allah plan for us…I started to join them back when I invited them for my wedding and they make my wedding as our reunion and I realized that time that it was ok, I feel that I wasn’t out of place so much so I went to small gathering if I can make it because I still lives very far from them which bring to this gathering.

It was a potluck and the theme was western food. I scratched a bit my head because you know my skill of cooking or lack of but then I got it. I brought sandwiches…hahaha clever me right? no need to cook.

The gathering was at Fifi’s house and she made chocolate cake and pavlova(this one was a crave for my pregnant friend). Others brought spaghetti meetball, carbonara pasta, pies garlic bread and mushroom soup.

Khairi was very active and happy because he is the only child (for now) and never went to nursery yet so he was crazy when there were a lot of kids. But he kept going to front door because he likes to go out. (If someone goes in or out in house, he will dash out…aiiihhh).

Okay back to food. These were Fifi’s pavlova but my other friend, Eijah wanted to place the fruits and these pavlova were the best pavlova that I’ve eaten. The cream was so nice. Total love it. I rarely like pavlova because it usually very sweet but Fifi’s was delicious. Oh, I just can’t describe it, the outer was sweet but not overly, and the texture just nice. Why did I only eat 2 pieces?

So my friend Fifi is legit cake baker, she started when we were at school and now she is full time cake maker. Who ever interested on getting her contact number for cake ordering, let me know okay. Her cakes are really…really nice.

Langkawi trip with bffs.

Finally a proper and fun post because I and my small family went to meet my bffs, Roha-chan, Cik Mah, and Wa.It had been years that all of us could gather. Alhamdulillah Roha-chan had conference in Langkawi, so all of us join her including her family.

It was a first time Khairi on a airplane and he was fine on the air but he was totally ridiculous in airport because he can walk now and he saw airport such a big playground for him. Totally cried when we wanted to carry him.

We took night flight because I wanted to make sure any of my family can send us to airport because it was working day. So my family was the earliest to reach Langkawi and we slept at Cenang Rest House. Very budget hotel but the only saving grace was king size bed. Aaaahh…space to sleep. I and Khairi managed to only see about a minute famous Pantai Cenang.

The next day was fetch and chat day because everyone was arriving and we rented a home stay. 4 rooms house which fit all the family.

That Laksa utara was brought by Cik Mah from Kuala Perlis. It was delicious even though she said it was 2nd in ranking because the 1st was closed. My husband who eat but not a fan of laksa also had 2nd helping. Roha-chan also ate the laksa the next day. She had to compensate before going back to Japan you see.

Since  we just wanted to meet, we had zero plan on place to go. Finally we decided to go for Langkawi Wildlife Park, 3D Art Musuem and Kompleks HIG. We decided for short and few place because my family have to take flight back to KL at 8.50 pm.

At Wildlife park, RM24 per entry for adult with Mykad. They have quite a few animal and they have place to pet and feed bird and rabbit but sadly my husband not a fan of this activity so we walk very fast. Aiiih. Even I didn’t manage to show to Khairi all the animals. BTW Khairi just wanted to walk around.

Next was 3D Art Musuem. It is located at Langkawi cable car area. It was full of people but it was tolerable. Khairi once again went want-to-walk phase and he went crazy  inside because we have to take off the shoes. Khairi went everywhere and I had to chase Khairi and apologize to people because he disturbed other people pose.

Below are the pictures that we took at the musuem and we tried to pose as many as we can because the ticket RM30 per entry for adult with Mykad. Must make it worth.

Khairi want to go somewhere

I’ve to hold him so that he could be photographed

Us + Adam (Adam so cute)

Maybe Khairi just felt weird on what his achiks doing.

This picture is so cute. 4 of us and Khairi running from us? with head on his head. uhmm…

L.O.V.E ❤

Then we went to HIG complex to buy imported chocolate but I bought so few because it was hard to shop with a toddler who doesn’t want to be carried and crowded.

Picture of us at the airport because it was time for me and my family to fly to KL. So sad, I want more time but I had to attend a wedding the next day. Till we meet again, my bestest friends.

My holiday wasn’t end there. I went to a wedding in Setiawan, a son and a daughter of my husband’s uncle wedding. 3 hours journey from KL. We actually could go to Lumut for some sightseeing but my husband wanted to went straight to KL because he kinda tired. So we stayed 2 more night in KL and managed to shop for Khairi’s stuff, ate nasi arab and pau cendawan and now I’m back working in Kuala Rompin.

The journey was not as exhausted I’d thought and Khairi also cope well. An enjoyable holiday.

Roha in Kuala Rompin

This was on 3rd Mac, ‘wah so late still wanna post’. Roha-chan came to Kuala Rompin but it was very…very short visit. She arrived at 4 am by bus and went to KL at 10.30 on a same day. However, that was totally touching moment for me because she came to Rompin to see Khairi and me before she went back to Japan.
Oh yeah, that is another news, Roha-chan is working in Japan. Actually I’m so happy for her because it is very good opportunity but sad at the same time because she is the the farthest of my bff. Everyone else is in different state but she is in different country. So far….
However, I will go to Japan to visit her (and holiday). I just have to gather fund and find some time.
I still counting that I owe Cik Mah a visit and Wawa to see Adam. (Must put in doa, InshaAllah).

Oh btw, now Khairi can’t be held by anyone except I and his father. Can Roha-chan still carry Khairi..uhmmmm…

Wa came over to Rompin

Wa suddenly called on last Thursday and asked me whether I would be in Rompin. I said yes and she said she would came on Friday. I was so happy that she would came but then panicking a bit because I didn’t know where to bring her. Hahahaha. There is nothing much in Rompin and the town is small.

When Wa came over, we had pillow talk and chatting till about 1 am. I’m glad that even though many changes happened especially both of us married, we can still talk like we used. I’m so happy.

I brought Wa to Pantai Penyabong (beach) and Pantai Hiburan. We just sightseeing and no swimming. Hope one day, we could play in water.

Pantai Penyabong

Ok now I’ve to find a way on how to meet Cik Mah. She has been back in Malaysia but we’ve yet to meet. Meeting K. Roha would be in Japan I hope.
