The Midnight Club
This is a Netflix tv series. I chose this series because I love The Haunting of Hill House and I’ve been following the director’s work and most of his works that I watched, I like them.
So this series follows the main character (forgot the name because I watched this like last year). She is a teen who had incurables cancer. So she went to a special hostel that catered to dying teens. So the series follows most characters, how they cope with death. However there were also many things that were weird with the hostel such cult, ghost and so on.
What did I think about the series. The weakest from the director but the series still made me binge it just in slower pace

Cabinet of Curiosities
This is an anthology type of series on horror/weird stories. Most of the episodes just so-so, some were good but when the episodes were good, it were really good. I truly like The Autopsy. Brilliant story!!

Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey
This is a documentary about a cult that subscribe to polygamy but to the extreme especially the leader of the cult because he married to maybe his sisters, underage girls and many wives. The cult was quite big at the time until they were found out by authority.
It is hard for me on why people could believe with cults. Yes they were brainwashed but it hard for me to understand. I’m also watching a cult documentary in South Korea which I’ll review after finish watching it.
I’m going to be honest here, while I was watching the documentary, in the back of my mind, I felt sorry to them. They were so thirsty for god and being in religion but they were so out. I keep thinking why they didn’t want to search for Islam. Islam is religion that truly ask for people to worship and close to Allah but there are no person that has higher status than Allah, so most probably no idolizing human and most likely, no such incident as this in Islam. I said most because there are wrong teaching of Islam such as claimed as new prophet which is so wrong because it is clear in Quran that Muhammad is the last messenger and prophet.
Added bonus, Islam allows polygamy. The man can marry up to four wives if they capable but women may not like it. Islam has pray to Allah 5 times a day, there is Friday pray which include sermon. So Islam can fulfill a person spiritually in close to god, rituals as praying to god, fasting, zakat, and pilgrimage to Makah but Islam doesn’t have ridiculous rituals that out of common sense and no idolizing human. So please check out Islam.
Recursion
A very sci fi that kinda genius but also might gave you a headache. Main concept of this novel is memory. The book follows at first Barry who was a detective that investigate into a suicide and at the time, some people had been suffering with False Memory Syndrome. So Barry then finally found the truth about the syndrome and found out about chaos in world.
Very interesting concept because all about memory and sci fi of it. I like many aspect of the book especially the book has solid conclusion because I kinda dislike no conclusion ending and the ending was pretty logical for the Wi-Fi and the novel also had heart part so a very good sci fi novel.
Wednesday
Wednesday is a famous character from Addams Family. She had lack of emotion, dark, and had gothic aesthetic. Black was her colour. So Wednesday had to go to Nevermore School whereby all students in the were not typical human. They might be siren, werewolf, vampire and so on.
This series was really interesting especially with the main lead character and the rest of casts which had very interesting characters. The story was also really especially I like mystery type of story. So I really enjoyed this series.

Only Murder in the building s2
Why do I love this series you may ask? Simple, I like whodunit type of story and this series was more on comedic side.
This season was continuation of the first season which end with cliffhanger. Still following 3 host podcast investigating murder case in their building. Adding more to the series that adding interesting part of the series was relationship dynamic between the 3 hosts because different age and gender.
Sadly I still failed and guessing the killer but didn’t fall for their red herring.

Shadow and Bones s2
The second season for the series. Too many things at the same time but not so bad and watchable.
Alena and Mal still want to clear The Fold, while Six of Crows group had their thing to handle. New and okay character.
I never read Shadow and Bone but read Six of Crows so some of the story from Six of Crows kinda put ahead. The Battle scene seems like a small scale. However overall was okay.
